Never lower a target!
What I am going to talk about here is really critical. I see and i have seen many managers around me starting to change their initial target when they failed to reach it.
This is a huge mistake you should never be doing.
The target is never the problem
The target is never the problem. The problem is you not providing the amount of efforts required to achieve it.
Why would you lower a target?
Think about it for a moment, if you commit on the amount of efforts required to reach your target, and you fail, then you plan to lower it…
That’s purely criminal, if you give up on your own dreams, how do you expect to manage bigger organizations?
Conclusion
Next time you are tempted to back off and lower your target, just remember this: “the target is never the problem”. Always do what is required to achieve it, end of discussion, #commit.
